Transitioning America
Hello members!
My wife and I just returned from this amazing conference in Cincinnati, EarthSpirit Rising, on sustainable futures and the new economy with participants such as David Korten, David Orr, Thomas Berry, et al. We come away really curious, interested and excited by the transitioning movement. Peak Oil, climate change, and economic crash have got us wondering about the future sustainability of viable communities in Northern Michigan. So we're trying to find out who's doing what in more sustainable areas of the continent. The LIttle HOuse in the Big Woods/Amish life stye seems to make so much more sense to us, but, being skill-deprived/handicapped (I am a former school teacher, current massage therapist/writer with a sacred activism in educational reform; my wife's activism focuses on sustainable food growing and eating choices), we realize the need for community. So: What's shaking in AA area?
